Welcome to Term 2

Kia Ora Whānau

Welcome back to term 2! This term our value is honesty so you can query children about being honest at home and they should understand the importance of being honest. We are encouraging students to tell the truth so that we can learn from our mistakes.

Our topic this term is Community Helpers - People who help us in the community! So far we have had visits from Fireman Matt, who taught us how to be firewise in the event of a fire. Room 6 learnt how to GET DOWN, GET LOW, AND GET OUT FAST!

Last week Constable Dimi visited us and taught us about road safety and to walk on the house side of the path and how to check for sneaky vehicles on driveways. He also showed us his tū meke waka and how to buckle up properly. We even had a visit from a fire truck and the firemen showed us what they look like with all their gear on!

This week we have a visit from St John, so if students can bring along their $2 donation, this will help towards the costs of them coming in and teaching us about what paramedics do to help in our community.
